Preparing Your Home For Sale Checklist (Con’t)

PREPARATIONS INDOORS:
Kitchen:
  • Remove appliances from counters and place in storage
  • Thoroughly clean counters and cabinets
  • Organize cabinets, under sink, and packing up as much as possible to send to storage
  • Replace or repair faucet, if needed, and keep sink clean & sparkling
  • Scrub all appliances clean and keep in good working order
  • Replace or clean curtains Place fresh flowers on the kitchen table
  • Select a pleasant aroma to use in the kitchen (vanilla or cinnamon are nice choices)

    Bathroom:

  • Repair any leaks & re-caulk tub
  • Replace shower curtain, bath rug and curtains on windows
  • Keep bath, faucets, sink & toilet spotless Replace or repair floor if needed
  • Create bright & soft light; Replace light bulbs as needed
  • Clean out & organize medicine cabinets
  • Keep all mirrors clean and streak-free
  • Put out your nicest coordinating towels for display
  • Use potpourri Living/Family Room:
  • Repair any cracks in ceiling & correct any water stains
  • Place any large or unmatched furniture in storage
  • Position remaining furniture to enhance space
  • Clean fireplace & place fresh logs
  • Leave freshly cleaned curtains open

    Dining Room:

  • Leave freshly cleaned curtains open
  • Place an appropriately styled centerpiece
  • Create beautiful place settings on table

    Bedrooms:

  • Make up all beds
  • Store all clothes and shoes in closets
  • Keep floor free from clutter
  • Organize closets, placing seasonal item in storage
  • Leave curtains open
